Good training gives you more than a hard workout. It gives you skills you can use, people who push you to improve, and a reason to keep showing up.

At Stockyard Jiu Jitsu, beginners learn the fundamentals with purpose, experienced students keep building their game, and competitors get the room they need to test it. Wherever you’re starting, there’s a place for you on the mats.

our mission:

Put in the work. See the progress.

Our mission is to build a jiu-jitsu school where every student can train seriously and belong. We teach practical skills, create a place for honest effort, and help people measure progress by what they can do today that they couldn’t do yesterday.

You don’t need experience to start. You need a willingness to learn. We’ll meet you there.

why stockyard?

a name that means something to us.

The stockyard is a place of work, grit, and movement. It feels at home in Kentucky, and it reflects the kind of school we want to build:

grounded, straightforward, and proud of the effort that happens inside it.

At Stockyard, you can expect:

  • A clear path for beginners so your first class feels like a starting point, not a test.

  • Technique with a purpose so you understand when and why to use what you learn.

  • Training that challenges you at a level that helps you grow.

  • A coach who is still competing and bringing that experience back to class.

  • Good training partners who make the room stronger together.

  • Room for different goals, whether you want to compete, get better each week, or simply find something worth committing to.

Come as you are. Be ready to work.

3 things guide every class

  • 01 / Learn with purpose

Every position has a reason. We teach the details, the decisions behind them, and how to put them together so you can use what you learn when someone resists.

  • 02 / Earn your progress

Jiu-jitsu takes practice. We believe in showing up consistently, working through the hard parts, and recognizing the small improvements that lead to lasting skill.

  • 03 / Build each other up

Your training partners are part of your progress. We want a room where people challenge one another, look after one another, and are glad to come back tomorrow.
